"People come to a church for many reasons; they stay for one... relationships!" (Roger Logan)
Two things have to happen to a newcomer for that person to feel comfortable and stay at our church long-term. First, they must have at least two friends in the church besides the pastor or leader. A friend is someone we enjoy being with and communicating with. He or she is a person we can share our heart with without fear of recrimination. The Welcoming and Ushering Ministry members are often the first "face" of our church body that a guest sees. Being a newcomer to OEM, you may feel a little overwhelmed by our buildings, services, and the sheer number of people, so the guidance offered by our ministry can help orient you so that your worship experience and involvement here is much easier. We aim to provide opportunities for friendships to develop and how we do that initially is through our welcoming meeting after each service: • Dogok, 1pm, Lobby area • Seobinggo, 5.30pm, Information Center (between two main buildings) During these times, the Welcoming Team will welcome you and get to know you. They will also give you information you need about OEM and will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the various ministries. By showing God’s love through a caring attitude and attentiveness to our guests, we hope to have an uplifting and encouraging affect on all believers and non-believers alike that enter Onnuri church. For more information about getting connected to the Church body at OEM, please contact welcome@onnurienglish.org | Looking for More!
The ushering and greeting teams at both campuses are looking for new members to serve with them. If you are new to OEM and don't know where to begin serving, this is a great place to start! All other members are welcome to join as well. Please contact P. Isaac at isaac@onnurienglish.org if you are interested.
