BIBLE VERSES

JOHN 2:13-22

The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there. 15 And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. 16 And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; do not make my Father’s house a house of trade.” 17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.”
18 So the Jews said to him, “What sign do you show us for doing these things?” 19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” 20 The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?” 21 But he was speaking about the temple of his body. 22 When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.

MATTHEW 16:21-27

From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised. 22 And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord! This shall never happen to you.” 23 But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindranceto me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.”

Take Up Your Cross and Follow Jesus
24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. 28 Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”

MATTHEW 25:31-46

The Final Judgment
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

LOVE NEIGHBORS MISSION

Picture
Love Neighbors Mission was founded by Pastor Sun Choi in 2005. His first five years of ministry were dedicated to praying earnestly and seeking God’s heart for those who were trapped in the red light districts of Korea. In his first outreach, he handed out chocolate bars with Bible verses to thirty women in the 588 Cheongryangni red light district. Now he conducts regular outreaches and hands out more than a hundred snacks to the women in the 588 district, as well as the women in the Jagal Madang and Paldal-gu red light districts in Daegu and Suwon. Last year, he opened a church in Cheonryangri especially dedicated to the women who work in the 588 district.  Every Sunday, Pastor Choi teaches God’s Word and provides a meal and a time of fellowship for these women. In addition, once a month Pastor Choi and a group of volunteers sing worship songs in the 588 district to proclaim God’s salvation over the land and pray for the women who are enslaved in the sex industry.  His goal is to raise leaders and reach all the women in the red light districts in Korea and abroad with the Gospel and see their souls saved.

FOREIGN MISSIONARY CEMETERY

Picture

Yanghwajin Foreign Missionary Cemetery is the burial place of foreign missionaries who gave their lives to plant the seeds of the Gospel in Korea. Their lives remain as an important foundation and a source of deep inspiration and understanding for the Korean Church, as it continues towards the 200th anniversary of Korean mission. Yanghwajin Foreign Missionary Cemetery is also a place where one can reflect upon the turbulent modern history of the Korean people.

ANSAN M CENTER

Picture

There are currently close to 760,000 people living in the city of Ansan. Ansan city is classified as a “development” or “satellite” city to Seoul because of the untenable high population density in Seoul. Ansan is bordered by Gunpo and Uiwang to the east, the West Sea to the west, Hwasung to the south and Siheung to the north. Ansan is the fifth largest city in Korea and has the highest population of migrant/foreign workers.
The symbols of Ansan include the ginkgo tree and the rose and is famous for producing grapes, wine and rice. There are more than 10,000 companies in Ansan and it has a long history of hiring migrant workers for manufacturing and low skilled labour work. In the past many companies exploited migrant workers by underpaying and overworking their workers however the situation has dramatically improved.
There are 24 high schools, 29 middle schools, 54 elementary schools in the city. Danwon High School in Ansan was particularly affected by the sinking of the MV Sewol in 2014 as a large number of the passengers were students from the school, and city streets featured many ribbon memorials and other markers and ceremonies for the disaster. Many families are still grieving the loss of loved ones.
