View the Spring 2012 Small Groups WHY Small Group: Seoul is the world’s eighth largest city (larger than Tokyo, London and New York) with a bustling population of 10,456,034 people. Yet, in the midst of the busyness of life in the city, and the hustle of the teeming crowds which are the norm for Seoulites, the experience of many is isolation and loneliness. Despite being surrounded by millions of people, finding community and connecting with others in a meaningful way isn’t something which just happens. This is where small groups at OEM come into play. WHICH Small Group: If you're interested in joining a small group, take a look at the Small Group Listing for the latest information on which groups are available at OEM. HOW to Join a Group: Once you've found a group that suits your location and time please email the small group leader directly to find out more about their group. We pray God will lead you to the right group for you! WHEN are Small Groups: In our OEM Small Groups Ministry, all small groups run in a semester system of three months as follows:
WHAT size is a Small Group: The purpose of a small group is just that - to be a small group of people connecting in God's name. At OEM we aim to limit group size to a maximum of 15 members. PURPOSE of Small Group: Here at Onnuri English Ministry, we have summarized the purposes of our Small Groups in the following way: “Growing in God through community, prayer, accountability and encouragement of God’s Word.” In other words, the purposes of small groups are bound up in experiencing authentic community and spiritual growth (through prayer and Bible study). This is one of the best means of experiencing the biblical ideal of community as seen in Acts 2: 42 - 46: “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts….” For more information on how you can get connected, please check our listing of small groups above and email one of them today.
