Zane Kang - Japan
|
Zane is serving in the city of Nagoya, Japan, with the Christ Bible Institute. CBI is composed of several ministries which seek to reach out to a nation in which less than 0.22% of the entire population confesses faith in Christ - the largest unreached nation in the world. One of these ministries is the Christ Bible Seminary. In Japan's spiritual climate churches are largely considered irrelevant and the number of its leaders are rapidly shrinking; CBS's vision is to train and raise up a new generation of spiritual leaders who can bring the Gospel to the people of Japan.
With the leaders of CBI, the seminary students, and other interns, Zane serves on the CBI staff to organize and head up various ministries through which they seek to form genuine relationships with the people of Japan, creating for them a relationally, emotionally, and spiritually safe space. Some of these ministries include the Heart & Soul Cafe, a cafe ministry where people can come together in a warm environment to experience genuine fellowship; the 'Eikaiwa' ministry, using excellence in English instruction to introduce students to community and the Word; and All Nations Fellowship, a bilingual worship service. |
